Phenomenon

Auto-Tune has taken over pop music. In the grand tradition of Cher (yes, Cher), artists everywhere are using this post-production fixer to create a different sound. Read the article by the New Yorker's Sasha Frere-Jones on this phenomenon here. Also, listen to an audio extra here. I won't go into the genesis and current use of this tool - the article does a good job of covering it. The newest incarnation is featured in Chris Brown's new song.

Chris Brown - Forever

The song is part of the re-release of last year's Exclusive.

Insert clever sign off here.

oh my goodness, punoo, this is ricky's new favorite song, and it is playing in my head incessantly. AND i was JUST telling him two days ago that every artist now "digitizes" their voice, so nothing seems so original anymore (britney, miley, etc.). i am so on top of things! also, so many artists just get their music from other people who are just writing the songs and putting them together and then looking for big-name artists to sing them. no one writes their own stuff anymore. i learned that from 'living lohan'.
anyways, thank you cher. and speaking of cher, did you know 'believe' was the number one single that year?? crazy.
there is another song i want you to look into. 19-year old from the UK. the song is something like 'running into sidewalks' or 'crashing into sidewalks'. love you punoo.

maybe i should start contibuting to this blog??

one more thing.

i would like this song so much more if it didn't have the line 'double your pleasure, double your fun.'

is that why they zoom in on him putting a piece of gum in his mouth?
